Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! “For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?” “Or who has first given to Him And it shall be repaid to him?” For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen (Romans 11:33-36).
Jesus Christ, the Word of God is everything! He is the One through whom the Father made all that is made, and He is the One through whom everything flows. Through Him all is held together! He is the unique Son of God, the only person who is one hundred percent God and one hundred percent man! Our lives, our existence, everyone and everything in the universe is derived through Him! There is nothing animate or inanimate that does not exist through Him! Every chirping bird, every fish that swims, every child that plays, every living thing that moves, every star that shines, even the wind that blows, finds their existence through Him. The Scriptures say even the planets, stars, and heavenly bodies exclaim His praise, as it is written in Psalm 19:1 and 57:5 “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork […] Be exalted, O God, above the heavens.” The book of Revelation in chapter 4 verse 11 agrees that He is worthy to receive all glory and honor, which is absolutely true without any equivocation: “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were create.” Jesus is more than amazing! It is He who abolished death and rendered sin inoperable in the human body because of Him, sin and death can no longer reign in the believer’s body! Because of Him, we literally reign in life by His Spirit; we can now take authority over sin in the human body and demonstrate His victory over it.
Why Jesus? Because He is our everything! As the Scripture says, “yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live” (1 Corinthians 8:6).
