THE SUPPLY OF THE SPIRIT OF JESUS CHRIST Pt. 2

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive” (John 7:37-39).

The supply of the Spirit that Jesus is speaking about is your sufficiency! You have been made sufficient for all things that you will ever encounter in this life. Your God is the true and living God whose idea it was to equip you with the Spirit of His Son. The Spirit who lives in you has already overcome the world, and He is your overcoming power. Therefore, Jesus Himself says, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). You now have the Life of Jesus living in you by the Spirit! Your victory over the world is predicated on Christ Jesus’ victory. 1 Corinthians 15:57 says, “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Your victory is never in doubt! It is as settled as Christ’s victory because it is His very own victory expressing itself in you and your sphere!

God Himself gives you a copious supply of the Spirit. By comparing the Spirit to rivers of living water, we can easily visualize our supply! In these verses, we see the Spirit portrayed as the giver of life. He is Rivers of living water. When we think of Rivers of living water, our minds default to Genesis where in the Garden of Eden, one river became four rivers flowing through it, causing great abundance, great produce! The believer, because of the supply of the Spirit, has become a fruitful garden! Jesus says, “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples,” and “I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain” (John 15:8, 16).

What amazing promises God has brought forth through the Supply of the Spirit!
