For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God (Romans 8:18-19).
The Scripture says, “the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God,” which gives the sense that creation itself is anticipating the certainty of the future revealing, appearing, disclosure, expression, or manifestation of the sons of God (Romans 8:19).
As I ponder the things that are going on in our nation, chaos and murder in the streets, lawlessness, wars and rumors of wars, nation rising against nation, which also means people rising against people, I realize that sometimes we look at these things as though they are just random acts of violence: different people doing their own evil. These are not just a series of bad things coincidentally happening; they are anything but coincidental or random! All the evil in this world is a coordinated plan of satanic rebellion and treason against God, masterminded and orchestrated by one evil being, the devil, who is behind each evil thought and invention of cruelty in this universe! From the moment he said, “I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High” (Isaiah 14:14), his continuum of evil has been at work.Evil is never random; it is organized rebellion against God and cruelty toward His people! These scriptures say, “do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones” (Proverbs 3:7-8). We will be well-served to know and acknowledge this truth.
We are presently dealing with evil on many fronts that uses many forums, from the angry citizen looter, tired of racial discrimination and prejudice, to the policeman turned murderer who has sworn to uphold the law, yet breaks it with careless disregard for human life even in the presence of many witnesses. We are daily confronted by the abounding of evil. We must, therefore, guard our hearts, for of these times Jesus has warned us when He says,“because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold” (Matthew 24:12). We are all being revealed! These times are meant to expose, to reveal where we are standing! Many Christians are often taking wrong positions standing adjacent to evil as was Peter on the night Jesus was betrayed and illegally tried. “Now the servants and officers who had made a fire of coals stood there, for it was cold, and they warmed themselves. And Peter stood with them and warmed himself” (John 18:18). Take heed! Do not stand with or near the enemy and warm yourself by his fire because whatever benefit you may seem to gain will be taken from you at the coming of the Lord.
The scripture says, “judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts” (1 Corinthians 4:5). Satan’s one goal is to propagate evil. He is organized and armed with the intent to steal, kill, and destroy! In Exodus 32:26, “Moses stood in the entrance of the camp, and said, ‘Whoever is on the LORD’s side—come to me!’ And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him.” I admonish you to come to Jesus and gather yourself around His cause which is whatever the scriptures say is important to Him! Love thy brother!
