In the last couple of vlogs, I gave a couple of reasons as to why we preach a Christ-centered message. The first reason being that Christ is literally our everything. And, secondly, our everything is actually Christ. Now, the third reason why we preach a Christ-centered message—and I’m mentioning these in no particular order—but the third reason is that Christ is not just the focal point of the scriptures; He is the entire point of the scriptures. He’s not just the main character and He’s surrounded by a bunch of other really good supporting characters and/or heroes, if you want to call them that. No, no, no, no. The reason why any of the stories—the stories of Noah, Abraham, Moses, David—the reason why any of their stories are even mentioned in the scriptures is because they all witness of the main character. They all witness of Jesus Christ, His death, and His resurrection. See, God didn’t see all of these men and go, “Wow, these are great men of God. Let me honor them by mentioning their stories along with the story of My Son.” No, no, no, no. The reason why these men are who they are is because of Christ and by the grace of God alone.
In John chapter 1, we see Christ named the Word of God. He is the fullness of God’s message—Jesus Christ is. Everything that God has ever spoken or shown us in the scriptures, it all witnesses of His Son. It all points to His Son, it all conveys His Son.
So, the third reason why we preach a Christ-centered message is because it’s all about Him. Now, next week we’ll take a look at how a Christ-centered message helps the believer to understand what is really required of them.
