A good example of what I’m talking about is found in John chapter 18. Whenever Pilate asked Jesus, “What is truth?” See, that’s not exactly the right question to ask because truth isn’t an “it.” Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” So, whenever we’re talking about truth, we’re talking about a person. The right question to ask is, “Who is truth?” And similarly, whenever we’re talking about grace, justification, or any of the other words that I’ve mentioned—and the list goes on from there, like I said before—we’re talking about the person of Jesus Christ. So, if God’s going to give us some grace, He’s going to give us Jesus. If He’s going to give us mercy, He’s going to give us His Son, Jesus. If He’s going to give us healing, He’s giving us Jesus for that.
