THE KINGDOM LIFE

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night (Psalm 1:1-2).

Psalm one is an awesome song of Kingdom life. In it, we find two ways of life contrasted. I would like to encourage you to incorporate these truths into your daily life.

The Psalmist says, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper” (Psalm 1:1-3).

The person who listens to the Lord and does what He says is a happy one! The Lord says that we must not walk in ungodly counsel nor go the way of sinners, nor be scornful, but that we should delight in the Word of the Lord and think on it day and night. The Psalmist declares that those who do such things “shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither and whatever he does shall prosper” (Psalm 1:3).

“The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish” (Psalm 1:4-6).

The Kingdom life is one of listening to the Lord and doing whatever He says. It is finding delight in His Word and thinking on His Word day and night. Let us from this moment, endeavor to be “Kingdom” in all our doings. Let us be people of the Word of God.
