Pastoral Message in Response to COVID-19

Dear Fellowship Family,

I want you to know that we at The Fellowship love you all very much. We pray for you every day.

We are in turbulent times by the world’s standards, but I want to encourage you in the Word of God. The Word tells us that “for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). This scripture informs us of what has already been given to us by the Lord, which enables us to be a part of the solution in the midst of the darknesses that surround us. Let us be light during this time by exercising self-control, demonstrating love to our neighbors, and not walking in fear. As we do so, we will bring glory to the Lord and point others to Him.

As a church, we are seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit and want to move as He moves. We know we must be careful and aware of what is going on around us, and we are taking precautions to ensure the safety of all. It is not out of a spirit of fear but from one of wisdom.

Precautions we are taking include cancelling all small groups (Fellowship Connection classes) until further notice.

We will not have any public services until further notice. We will follow the Governor's directives as we believe it is in the interest of stamping out this pandemic.

Therefore, with that in mind, I am asking you to stay home and watch our live stream during service times, which is available across various media platforms, including www.cccfellowship.com, YouTube, Sermon.net, and Facebook. We will also continue to broadcast on our local television affiliates. Please remember to participate and worship with us through online giving or text to give during the offering time.

Our services will be online only until we sort this out. I ask that you continue to refrain from shaking hands and hugging wherever you are. Please know that we love you, and you will always be greeted with a warm hello. We encourage you to wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer. If you are not feeling well, please stay home and avoid all public gatherings. Let us know by email or calling the church office so that we may pray for you, and tune in online during our service times. Let us do our part to stop the spread of illness in our community.

I would like to encourage us from spreading opinions about what we should be doing during this pandemic. We are instructed to follow the Holy Spirit, and that is what we are endeavoring to do in every situation.

We love you all, and we will get through this together.
