If you love Me, you will keep My commandments (John 14:15).
“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments” (John 14:15). From the moment Jesus spoke these words, they were released into the earth realm and became reachable, obtainable for us. They are not so much a command but a resultant reality for those who love God. Scripture says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God” (Romans 8:28). The love of God is not dormant or listless, but it is dynamic, energizing, and compelling! For Christ’s love compels us [energizes, is effective] because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died (2 Corinthians 5:14). This love is not of human origin, but divine, therefore it carries an inherent ability to perform every God-given task! Because you love Jesus, God has equipped you to succeed!
There are those who say that they love God, but do not obey Him. That is impossible. We may struggle in apprehending obedience but are always inclined toward it! Human weakness is not an impediment to His love followed by obedience because the love of God is compelling love; it controls us, and it overrides all innate obstacles! Therefore, negative circumstances or situations cannot suffocate the overcoming, overpowering love of God! Jesus gives us understanding in what His love guarantees when He says, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him” (John 14:21). If we love Jesus, He will be manifest in our lives, i.e., readily perceived by the eye or understanding, evident, obvious! Additionally, when the Father loves someone, He shows them what He is doing. He invites that person who exhibits love for Jesus into His own fellowship of divine workings.
