In Ephesians chapter 2, verse 8, the scripture says that we were saved by grace through faith, and that not of ourselves is the gift of God. So, on that note, it’s not that we were saved by grace because we got faith. It’s that we’re saved by grace because God gave us the gift of faith. Our faith in Christ comes from Him. And, secondly, the faith that God has given us is not weak at all. It’s the assurance of things hoped for. It’s the evidence of things not seen. It’s the proof of God.
Now, if our faith was something that we had to muster up—well, then it wouldn’t prove God at all. It would prove that we’re something special. But, since it’s the gift of God, and it’s given by God, that means that it is the evidence that He is exactly who He says He is. And when people see you, they go, “Oh, I know that this person used to be a cusser, a luster, a hater, but now they’re filled with this amazing love, and they’re spotless. They’re clean. It has to be God working in them. He has to be everything that He says He is.” The faith that God has given us is strong and it’s amazing.
